It seems these were special circumstances. There is little you can control about being kidnapped to another world.
[So you're off the hook in Meroon's eyes on that one, Duster. But don't get complacent.]
But once you find replacements, you will need to be more careful or whoever is keeping watch while you sleep needs to be more vigilant.
[Because having a friend on guard while you snooze is standard practice everywhere, right?]
